Environmental and Occupational Training

The Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) require employers to provide training for their employees who are engaged in operations that could potentially injure workers or harm the environment. When conducted effectively, such training can minimize accidents and injuries that prevent projects from being completed on time, on schedule and within budget. All of EnviroServices & Training Center, LLC instructors are also project managers who possess both the field experience and the working knowledge of the plethora of DOT/EPA/OSHA requirements.

More than 100 OSHA standards contain training requirements aimed at reducing risk factors for injury or disease. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) conducted a literature review to determine if such required safety and health training was effective in reducing work related injury and illness. The reports were nearly unanimous in showing how training can increase hazard awareness, cause workers to adapt safe work practices, and otherwise improve work place safety. Other surveys and reports suggested that a lack of required training may have contributed to events where workers were injured or killed. In addition, OSHA Review Commission cases have determined that the adequacy (quality) of employee training programs were always an issue in alleged violations. Therefore, the lack or thoroughness of a training program can definitely have an effect on OSHA's severity of a fine or penalty.

ETC's training package is presented in an engaging and informative format to promote better long-term understanding. Classes can be conducted at ETC’s Training Center or at your job site.
